Kids can try on gear, spray a fire hose, tour emergency vehicles, and take part in fun activities like coloring and touch-a-truck. Live fire and car extrication demonstrations will also be featured, and hamburgers and hot dogs will be served.

Dot Day was inspired by the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, which reminds every child to “make their mark” and use a growth mindset. This year, our students will add their voices to millions around the world who connect through art and imagination.

🏛️ Fourth grade students spent the day exploring the Peel Mansion Museum & Botanical Garden in Bentonville yesterday. Students toured the rooms of the famous 1800s home, exploring bedrooms, the parlor, the dining room, and the garden! Each space showed how families of that era lived, worked, and entertained.
The young lion leaders also explored Victorian-era technology during their visit. They tried operating a loom, practiced paper weaving, and worked on period-accurate crafts projects. Outdoors, they joined museum staff for a lively folk dance and placed a brick in the walkway with "Gravette Upper Elementary" etched into the top, now a permanent connection between our school and the history of our region.
The Peel Mansion is operated by the Peel Compton Foundation, established by the Walton family, and remains a popular venue to preserve the region’s history and share it with new generations. Thank you Bethany Pitts for sharing these photos from Mrs. Roberts’ class. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🎗️ Gravette is Going Gold on September 4! We’ll be joining other schools across Northwest Arkansas in recognizing Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Students and staff are encouraged to wear gold or yellow to show support for children fighting cancer and their families. At Gravette Middle School, this is especially meaningful as one of our Lions is currently battling brain cancer.

🏫 The 21st Century After School Program program begins Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and serves Kindergarten through 8th grade at no cost to families. The 21st CCLC Program provides afterschool tutoring, homework help, learning, and enrichment time with a certified teacher. Space is limited to 125 students, with applications opening August 7 and acceptance notifications sent the week of August 22.

The program runs Monday through Thursday from dismissal until 5:30 p.m. Attendance is required most days to keep a spot in the program, and all pickups will be through the Upper Elementary car rider line between 4:30–5:30 p.m.
