📖 Here's another book recommendation from Mr. Walker! This book is in our Parent Center. It was the 10-year reunion of all those gifted kids who attended the school for high achievers in St. Louis, an event that has changed the life of the author. Their early talents and intellect portended excellence, success, prestige, and perhaps greatness, but most of the women in the group had settled into mediocre jobs, performing uninspiring chores, or were unemployed, happy in traditional roles. And they were barely approaching the age of 30. As memories of that night's party faded, Kerr set off on a new path--studying and researching the lives of gifted women, and counseling gifted girls and their adult counterparts. The Guidance Laboratory for Gifted and Talented at the University of Nebraska was thus born, directed by Dr. Kerr. In this title, she offers thoughtful suggestions for parents of gifted girls from preschool through graduate school. "Kind, selfless, and dedicated." These three words describe our School Resource Officers to a T! Anytime our teachers or staff need a hand, Officer McGarrah is the first to step in and help where needed. This time it's in our front office! Report cards are getting mailed out and our office ladies needed a lending hand. 🥰 #experiencethepride

Post 1 of 2! Yesterday, our GMS ukulele kids were busy! In honor of Mele Kalikimaka dress-up day, they did the following: 1. Played Mele Kalikimaka (the song) on our ukuleles. 2. Had small groups busk and sing in the hallways on some Christmas carols. 3. Took fun pictures by the Mele Kalikimaka choir room door. (Door designed and built by Laughter Galloway and Lexie Jarvis.) 🌺

Six talented students auditioned for the ASBOA Junior High All-Region Band and two were chosen overall. Congrats to all! 🎉
