🎖️ Cutter Franks, a senior in the Class of 2025, was recognized yesterday for his commitment to joining the United States Marine Corps. Last night, he was honored at the inaugural Our Community Salutes of Northwest Arkansas recognition ceremony. The event celebrated high school seniors who have answered the call to serve in the U.S. Armed Services after graduation. As Cutter shared during his interview with KNWA & FOX24, “A lot of people think we made this decision in a vacuum—nobody knows they're going. Now they're going to get the celebration and the sendoff they need.” 🎥 Watch the full news story here: https://www.nwahomepage.com/video/ceremony-prepares-future-service-members-for-military-life-ahead-of-boot-camp/10608428/ Cutter’s commitment reflects the strength and leadership we strive to grow in all our students. We are proud to stand behind him, and every student choosing a path of service. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🔬 Gravette Middle School students are getting real lab experience in Mr. Leach's classroom! Over the course of seven days, students completed a lab experiment to see how genetic traits are passed through generations. They observed fruit flies with red eyes becoming the dominant population over white-eyed flies—since the red-eyed flies could spot mates more easily and reproduce more successfully. A small group of volunteers took it a step further with an additional seven-day lab, where they witnessed the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria! By growing bacterial populations in environments with and without antibiotics, students observed how quickly resistant strains can take over under constant pressure. Our middle school scientists are learning the importance of effective observation, safety precautions, and how even the smallest changes can shape the future of living organisms. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🎨 Gravette Schools Art Show is TOMORROW... We have been preparing for so long and it's finally time! From our youngest creators to our most advanced artists, students across the district have been putting their talent on display through paintings, drawings, sculptures, and more. This year, students across the district explored the work of renowned artist Yayoi Kusama, known for her bold polka dots, immersive spaces, and infinite patterns. Inspired by her style, many of our young artists created their own unique interpretations, adding their own twist to her iconic approach. But that's just the start, we've got so so many fantastic works of art that showcase each student's unique style too! Join us for show tomorrow, Thursday, March 13, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Event Center @ Ozark Community Hospital. This is huge a celebration of self-expression, inspiration, imagination, and the outstanding art education happening in our schools. 📅 More details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/3038709192954217 🖼️ Let’s come together to support our student artists!
