Say hello to Mr. Griffith! 👋 He is our new English and Journalism teacher here at GHS. A fun fact about Mr. Griffith is that he is distantly related to Andy Griffith from the "Andy Griffith Show", but just in case you're wondering - he is not related to our GHS building Secretary, Mrs. Denise Griffith. 😋
📅 Just a reminder, there will be NO School on Monday, September 5th in honor of Labor Day.
1 amazing teacher (Mr. Hall) + a classroom full of attentive freshmen = a SUCCESSFUL day for this Algebra 1 class ➕➗
In Mrs. Buck’s Child Growth and Development class, the students reinforced their learning of the areas of development by participating in hands-on stations. At each station, the students simulated learning for the first time by using their non-dominant hand to practice early childhood developmental skills. 🦁

We have our first GHS student SHOUT OUT 📢 Congrats to Freshman, Parker Pittman, on winning the Senior Showmanship award for Dairy Cattle at the Washington County Fair this morning! Parker is putting in that hard work both in and out of the classroom. 🏆🦁
Mr. McKeown's social studies class is off to a great start! They are prepping to take the U.S Citizenship test. 📝
16 days until the BIG EVENT!
Something awesome is coming in 17 days!!!
For parents picking up/dropping off their children, please refer to the "Traffic Flow" map below! We understand these first few weeks of school can be confusing and a bit of a wait to pick up your child, but if we all do our part and work as a team - there is nowhere to go but up! Thank you all for understanding 🦁
There is no time to waste in Mrs. Lovell's chemistry class! Her students are already doing simple chemical reactions and having a blast 🧪
IMPORTANT INFO PARENTS ‼ Please remember that tomorrow, Friday 8/19, we will be doing our regular "Fast Friday" schedule. For our Parents new to GHS, "Fast Friday" simply means the bell schedule is slightly changed so that our Lions can be released EARLY. This occurs every Friday. School will be dismissed at 2:45pm. 👍 Thank you for understanding!

When asked, "What are you most excited for in this upcoming school year?", Mr. Gravette jokingly said, "For all my students to know I'm alive and thriving - duh. Haha, but my real answer is the kids being back! I've watched them grow up and mature into these responsible young people. I can't wait to see them!" Our teachers are ready to start the year 😊
