Mrs. Brandi Brown brings creativity and color to Glenn A. Duffy Elementary every day, and now she’s earned an "A Cut Above" award for the many ways she brightens our school!
Dr. Brandi Newsom shared, “She gives so much of herself to our students and staff. Every morning, she’s out at bus duty—even though she doesn’t have to be. She builds great relationships and works closely with struggling students. She's part of our Magic Squad, guiding coalition, and behavior team—she’s involved in so many things that people don’t even realize. Any time someone needs help, you can count on Mrs. Brown.”
Mrs. Brown's joyful school spirit was on full display when the Gravette School Board, joined by Mr. Gravette and Dr. Newsom, dropped in unexpectedly with the award presentation. She was dressed as a Dr. Seuss character for Read Across America Week, fully embracing the fun of the day! She wasn’t expecting the spotlight, but she accepted the award with the same enthusiasm and grace that she brings to her students and her work.
Her award, a custom metal plaque, was designed and built in the Gravette High School Agricultural Science workshop by Mr. Malott and his students. Each one is a work of art on its own, carefully crafted, precision-cut, welded, and painted by hand. This special recognition is a true Gravette original, symbolizing the creativity of our staff and students and the deep appreciation for those who go above and beyond.
Mrs. Brown has been hard at work preparing for The District Art show, where the work of her students will finally be on display for the whole community! The District Art Show is coming up on Thursday, March 13, showcasing the talent of Gravette Lions big and small! Find more details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/3038709192954217
The Gravette School Board, along with Dr. Newsom and her colleagues, took a moment to recognize all that Brandi does—both seen and unseen—for our students. Thank you, Brandi, for being A Cut Above! 🦁 #LionPride

We love Duffy and Duffy loves his job. He spends his day offering comfort, helping students settle in, and bringing joy to the school. Students light up when they see him, and his presence creates a sense of calm and connection. Check out these great moments of Duffy in action! #LionPride

Our beloved Stephanie Oyler was recognized for going the extra mile every day with a surprise visit from the School Board and the "A Cut Above" award!
Stephanie was nominated for her love of the job, kindness with children, and dedication to the school. She takes pride in keeping things running smoothly and always makes time for students and staff. Dr. Brandi Newsom said, “Stephanie has built great relationships with everyone. She always steps up to help, and we couldn’t do our jobs without her.” Maintenance Director Richard Carver said, “She loves kids and loves her job. She’s dedicated to the district and proud to be from Gravette. She and her family in this district are some of the hardest workers we have.”
The shockingly heavy "A Cut Above" award is a custom-made plaque, designed and built in the Gravette High School Ag Science workshop by Justin Malott and his students. Using a CNC plasma table, they precision cut thick metal sheets before welding and painting each piece by hand. It’s a true one-of-a-kind Gravette Schools keepsake that reflects both the skill of our students and the deep appreciation for those who go above and beyond.
It’s more than just a plaque, it’s a statement that every role in the district matters and that hard work doesn't goes unnoticed. The Gravette School Board, along with Mr. Gravette, Dr. Newsome, and Mr. Carver shared their appreciation with Stephanie for everything she does for our school. Thank you Stephanie, for being A Cut Above!🦁 #LionPride

This is the week of Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Even though the snow kept us away from school, we’re especially grateful for our bus drivers who always put student safety first! Through every season, they work hard to ensure a smooth ride and a warm welcome for our students and families.
Let’s take a moment to thank our bus drivers for their kindness, patience, and commitment to our kids. If you see your driver on Monday, give them a big thank you and a smile!
Our drivers are the ones we see every day, but behind every safe and smooth bus route, there’s a team working hard to make it happen! A huge shoutout goes to Mr. Richard Carver, our Transportation & Facilities Director, and Mrs. Melissa White, our Transportation & Facilities Administrative Assistant, for all they do to keep our buses running and our students safe. Their hard work, planning, and care make a difference every day!
Our schools need more bus drivers! If you or someone you know is interested in joining our team, check out the job posting here: https://www.gravetteschools.net/drive
