To celebrate National School Counseling Week, Arisa Health recognizes outstanding educators who raise awareness about mental health and challenge stigma through its Mental Health Champion Awards. Winners are selected at the elementary, middle, junior high, and high school levels across regions served by Arisa Health, which includes Professional Counseling Associates, Mid-South Health Systems, Ozark Guidance, and Counseling Associates.
This year, Tina Robinson from Gravette Upper Elementary received the Mental Health Champion Award for her exceptional dedication to fostering students' emotional, academic, and social growth. The award was presented to her in a surprise visit from Arisa Health, Mr. Gravette, Mrs. Andrews. Nominated by Principal Mandy Barrett, Mrs. Robinson was praised for creating a nurturing environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
"Tina goes above and beyond her role to create a nurturing environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued," said Barrett. "Her focus is always on what is best for kids. She collaborates seamlessly with teachers, parents, and administrators and contributes meaningfully to school improvement efforts."
Mrs. Robinson said, "I am honored to receive the Arisa Health Mental Health Champion Award but even more grateful for the unwavering commitment of our Arisa Health partners, Mikki and Teresa. Their dedication to our students and staff has provided tremendous support to my role as school counselor, and I am very thankful for all they do. I also want to express my gratitude to Dr. Barrett for her leadership and ongoing support for me and all of our staff. Her intentional efforts have positively impacted our school culture and have created an environment where students and staff feel empowered to share their voice and to dream big. She consistently supports and encourages my ideas and my efforts, and I am truly grateful for all that she does to support our school family."
Among Mrs. Robinson's most notable achievements is the successful implementation of the Leader in Me program, which has empowered students to become confident leaders and strengthened ties within the school community. Her leadership and compassion have made a lasting impact on students, staff, and families alike.
Mrs. Robinson was also the recipient of an award 3 months ago as part of Arvest Bank's “We Love Teachers” initiative! With a $500 check awarded to her, Mrs. Robinson expanded our calming centers and provided sensory-friendly resources to help students develop essential self-regulation and conflict-resolution skills.
Her service and dedication to students make the Gravette Upper Elementary team stronger, and we are proud to celebrate her continued impact. #LionPride
