On September 27, 2024 Glenn A. Duffy held the first assembly to recognize students for exceptional character, good behavior, and leadership. This year is the beginning of monthly Kiwanis Terrific Kids Awards assemblies presented by The Gravette Kiwanis Club. Hosts Mr. Bob Kelley, Treasurer of the Gravette Historical Museum, and Dr. Nancy Jones, Family Medical Physician with Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette, awarded each child a package that includes a certificate, a special pencil, and a bumper sticker!
Terrific Kid is a student recognition program, created by the Kiwanis Club, that promotes character development, self-esteem, and perseverance. Each month, students work with their classroom teacher and establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance, or schoolwork. Teachers select one boy and one girl each month for recognition. Parents can write nominations for their child's actions outside of school that deserve recognition too!
