Parents play a crucial role in their children’s education, and understanding programs like Title I can significantly enhance your ability to support academic success. Join us on November 21 at the Lion Community Learning Center where we will have an in-person meeting to talk about Title I and answer all your questions.
Title I is designed to provide additional resources to students that are achieving below their potential, helping ensure every child has an equal opportunity to succeed. By understanding Title I, parents can find tools and strategies used to address educational challenges, close achievement gaps, and create a supportive learning environment for all students.
What is Title I?
Established under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, Title I provides federal funding to schools serving communities in proportion to their economic needs. The program’s primary goal is to help students meet challenging state academic standards through enhanced instruction, targeted resources, and schoolwide reforms. Title I benefits not only children who face obstacles to learning but also the entire school community by promoting higher-quality teaching, additional learning time, and family engagement opportunities.
