If your child is new to riding the bus, please complete our updated Transportation Enrollment form through Transact. This system allows families to register students and manage transportation details in one place.

To begin, you’ll need to create a Transact account if you don’t already have one. Only one account is needed per household, and you’ll be able to register multiple students at once.

Once submitted, your information will go directly to our Transportation Department and then be shared with your child’s school. Be sure to enter your current address and emergency contacts accurately. If we need additional details about your child’s enrollment, someone from our office will contact you.

The Gravette School District Transportation Department sends out letters in the fall to notify the parents which roads, in our judgment, are not safe to travel in inclement weather. This information is also updated annually on the Transportation Department web page. Students that live in areas that could be considered hazardous in inclement weather should ask the bus driver about a location for pick up and drop off for such occasions.

On these days the bus drivers determine which roads are safe!

Video Surveillance is present on all Gravette school buses and viewing rights are reserved for school personnel and law enforcement only.

1. Students are expected to observe the same behavior at the bus stop as they are expected to on any school campus.

2. Students are to be at the bus stop at least 5 to 10 minutes before the scheduled time of the stop. Students are to stand off the road and wait until the door is opened to move up to the bus. Do not play on the roadway.

3. Students must be outside and visible to the bus driver at the bus stop when the bus arrives. If you miss the bus, do not hitchhike to school.

4. Students that will cross the roadway to board the bus will wait until the bus arrives and stops all traffic to cross the roadway. Students must watch the bus driver and wait until the bus driver gives a signal for the students to cross the roadway to board the bus. Students will cross the roadway at least 10 feet in front of the bus as they get enter or exit the bus. When exiting in the afternoons, they are to cross the roadway before the bus leaves and only after the driver has signaled them to do so.

5. If student’s homes are on the right side of the road, they should leave the bus and go directly to their driveway so the driver can always see them. Students should not stop at the mailbox until the bus leaves the area.

6. While loading or unloading the bus, students must enter or exit quickly and in order.

7. Students are expected to not tamper with any safety equipment. Use emergency exits only if instructed to do so by authorized personnel.

8. Prior arrangements with the school principal must be made before a student can carry any prescription medications on the bus.

9. Bus related violations will be referred to the building principal for disciplinary action. In the event of a serious rules infraction, the Transportation Department Supervisor may suspend the student from riding the bus. This suspension (also in effect for all Gravette buses) will be referred to the principal for possible further action.

10. Students are to get off the bus in the afternoon at their regular bus stop. In order for a student to be allowed to ride a bus other than their regular route, they must present the bus driver with a note from the school office, signed by the school principal or designee.
